Training Materials

As a part of our commitment to ensure that employers and migrant workers can contribute to Qatar’s ICT growth, we are making available a range of content and learning materials, which will help migrant workers to have a better understanding of how to use ICT tools and e-government services.

Through the Better Connections Program, we aim to provide migrant workers with all of the necessary information and provide migrant workers with awareness about fundamental human rights (Rights and Responsibilities) to maintain a harmonious working environment and to bring motivation and self-sufficiency to workers’ lives in Qatar.

Learning resources include a range of interactive learning modules to support the digital inclusion of migrant workers and to enable the implementation of The Better Connections Program. We have developed three e-learning modules:

Basic ICT and Internet Skills:

  • Basic ICT and Internet skills curriculum
  • Microsoft Digital Literacy curriculum

Be Smart and Learn:

Health and Safety (Be Smart, Be Safe).

This module is an induction for new migrant workers in Qatar. It contains valuable information introducing them to Qatari life followed by basic Health and Safety topics, which will be useful in their day-to-day working life.

Financial Literacy (Virtual ATM Simulator).

This module is an introduction to using a cash machine (ATM). Learn the basics of using a cash machine and then try the simulator to practice before using it on ground.

Mobile Money (Virtual Mobile Wallet Simulator).

This module covers the use of ‘Mobile Money’ services, an easy way to transfer money using your mobile phone. There is a section on transferring money to friends and family back home.

Migrant’s Rights

The National Human Rights Committee of Qatar believes that promoting and protecting human rights is a key to the advancement of society. As part of its mission, especially for migrant workers, it offers a guide to understanding workers’ rights and duties during their work tenure in Qatar. The National Human Rights Committee aims at spreading awareness about human rights in a society characterized by the presence of a huge number of foreign workers in Qatar.
