Speaker Bios:

Marcus Ranum

Marcus J. Ranum, Chief Security Officer of Tenable Security, Inc., is a world-renowned expert on security system design and implementation. Since the late 1980's, he has designed a number of groundbreaking security products including the DEC SEAL, the TIS firewall toolkit, the Gauntlet firewall, and NFR's Network Flight Recorder intrusion detection system. He has been involved in every level of operations of a security product business, from developer, to founder and CEO of NFR.

Marcus has served as a consultant to many FORTUNE 500 firms and national governments, as well as serving as a guest lecturer and instructor at numerous high-tech conferences. In 2001, he was awarded the TISC "Clue" award for service to the security community, and also holds the ISSA lifetime achievement award. In 2005 he was awarded Security Professional of the Year by Techno Security Conference.


Peter Burnett

Peter Burnett is an independent consultant providing Cyber Security and Information Sharing advice and knowledge. Peter was until recently responsible for International Coordination at the UK's Office of Cyber Security (OCS). This new body was launched in 2009 to take forward the UK's Cyber Security Strategy and coordinates Cyber Security Strategy and Policy in the UK. Peter was previously in charge of International Liaison at the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) which is the UK authority for advice to the UK's Critical National Infrastructure, on Physical, Personnel and Electronic (or Cyber) Security, Peter has also been active in European security forums like ENISA.

RedTiger Security

Red Tiger Security is a Multi-National consultancy and research firm dedicated to the resiliency of National Critical Infrastructure, Industrial Control Systems security, SCADA Security and mission-critical systems. Strategic Critical Infrastructure Systems such as Power Generation and Water delivery; Defense and Government systems; Petrochemical and Manufacturing processes are essential international concerns. They are regular speakers in SANS security summits as well as conferences like Blackhat.


Pete Herzog

Pete is the co-founder of ISECOM and is directly involved in all ISECOM projects. His main objective is for ISECOM to assure truth in security application and deployment. Pete focuses on scientific, methodical testing for controlling the quality of security, countermeasures, access controls, and business integrity. In addition to managing ISECOM, Pete teaches the Masters for Security at La Salle University in Barcelona which accredits the OPST and OPSA training courses and Business Information Security in the MBA program from ESADE which is the foundation of the OPSA.
