GCC e-Government Portal and e-Security Network Launched
The GCC e-Government Ministerial Committee launched Tuesday the e-Government Portal at its fourth meeting held in Doha and chaired by HE the Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Dr. Hessa Al Jaber. The Committee also inaugurated the e-Security Network among the GCC e-government networks.
The meeting was attended by the GCC countries Ministers of Communications and Information Technology and HE the GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Hessa Al Jaber said, “The GCC strategy document indicative of e-government has resulted in a number of joint initiatives and projects that aim at promoting the desired GCC cooperation and integration in this vital area in order to achieve the welfare of the citizens of the GCC countries. The fruit of such cooperation is the launch of the GCC e-Government Portal and the inauguration of the e-Security Network.”
“Qatar is keen on boosting the GCC joint efforts at all levels by encouraging and supporting the various initiatives and projects that proposed by the GCC Member States in different fields, including the e-government domain.” Dr. Al Jaber added.
In her speech, Dr. Al Jaber praised the efforts and support given by the State of Kuwait during the previous GCC e-Government Ministerial Committee.
