Hukoomi Launches Sub Portal to Celebrate Qatar National Day

In celebration of Qatar National Day, Hukoomi, Qatar’s e-government portal, has launched a special microsite to help residents and visitors of Qatar stay up to date with all the engaging activities that are underway to mark the occasion.

The Hukoomi Majlis, a dedicated booth that Hukoomi will be setting up at Katara Cultural  Village, will kick off Hukoom’s celebrations, providing a one-stop shop for all citizens and residents willing to discover the various National Day festivities. The booth, which will be operational from December 13th until December 18th, will allow visitors to create their own photo memories of Qatar National Day via an augmented reality photo service. Set up at the Beach Area, the booth will allow visitors to discover Hukoomi’s various e-services and will be accessible to the disabled, as a reflection of Hukoomi’s mission of serving everyone regardless of their disabilities.

“Hukoomi is a direct reflection of our leaders’ commitment to their citizens and to making government work better for the people it serves. With information on every government entity and more than 60 automated e-services, Hukoomi truly is the online gateway to Qatar’s government,” said Hassan Al Sayed, Assistant Secretary General for ICT Government Programs at ictQATAR. “On this National Day, Hukoomi will participate in a range of activities and we look forward to hearing from everyone how we can better meet the country’s needs. We are committed making the government even more accessible”.

Throughout the day, a live stream of all national celebrations will be available on Hukoomi’s dedicated microsite, available at: www.gov.qa. Visitors will be also able to stay up to date with all activities through Hukoomi’s social media channels which will be making up to date announcements on the latest National Day events. Free e-greeting cards will be available via Hukoomi, providing visitors with an opportunity to send National Day greetings to family, friends and relatives.

Individuals using Hukoomi to pay their bills through the portal’s wide array of user friendly e-services will be able to enter a draw to win an iPad 3 device between December 10th and 19th. Winners of the draw, available only to individuals availing of Hukoomi’s e-services, will be announced via Hukoomi following the National Day celebrations.

Marking its active entry to Instagram for the first year, Hukoomi is also organizing a special Instgram competition to inspire users to capture National Day moments. The competition will include a number of prizes and will be open for all users willing to submit original photos portraying the Qatar National Day spirit. Winners will be decided based on user “likes” on Hukoomi’s Instagram page.
