MMUP Targets 2017 for Paperless Transactions

The Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning (MMUP) has set 2017 as a target to reach the point of completely paperless transactions within its internal departments and in dealings with partner organizations, in the light of the objectives outlined in Qatar Digital Government Strategy 2020.

Khalaf Al Anzi, Director, Information Systems Department., told reporters - at an interactive session regularly conducted by the MMUP public relations section to update the public on its services - that the MMUP is working on a number of projects that would be launched soon to ease the process of accessing its services. This would reflect positively on both the people of Qatar and MMUP staff, in addition to saving time, money and effort.

Al Anzi said that the MMUP has been a pioneer in launching e-applications for both Android and Apple stores, where it offers a number of competitive services with an interactive interface, which aim to respond to consumers’ complaints and better serve the public.

He stated that new services are currently being added to the Tawkeed project, which allows to issue the original copy of the building permit and license without referring to the MMUP.

Al Anzi affirmed that the “Electronic Platforms” project would be finalized within the next three months. This involves interactive and accessible electronic equipment, where all related official MMUP documents could be issued. The equipment will be available at a number of shopping malls.
