MOTC Organizes Training Workshop for Government Entities on Open Data Policy
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) organized, on Monday May 2, a four-day training workshop for a number of representatives of ministries and government entities on the Open Data Policy and its implementation.
The workshop, attended by nearly 30 representatives of the different government entities, tackled a number of open data-related topics, including the benefits of open data for the government, and how government entities can set a plan for open data and create the open data web page, as well as how to manage open data initiative continuously.
The workshop comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to increase government entities awareness of the Policy and to help them implement it in order to create an open and transparent culture where knowledge bases are kept current and accessible, which in turn develops the capacity and culture for regularly processing and sharing information.
The MOTC issued the Open Data Policy in November 2014 after it was approved by the national e-Government Steering Committee for adoption by the government agencies in the State of Qatar.
